Use case

Assessment, demand and receipt tracking

Owner verification

May require registered mobile OTP

VLT is a municipal tax record, separate from title

The VLT record helps an owner track assessment, demands and payments for eligible vacant land. It should be reconciled with the registered deed, layout approval, EC and ownership details. A paid tax record is useful compliance evidence, but it does not cure a title or layout defect.

1. Add the vacant plot

Save its location, dimensions, ownership document and available municipal identifiers.

2. Connect the VLT record

Use the VLT number or the official owner-mobile verification path where supported.

3. Track evidence

Keep demand, payment and receipt status with the property instead of relying on screenshots.

What the check can and cannot establish

  • • VLT portals and assessment requirements vary by municipal authority.
  • • GHMC owner-mobile access requires the registered mobile and an OTP controlled by the owner.
  • • A missing online result can mean no assessment, wrong identifiers, a portal issue or unsupported coverage. It is not proof that no tax is due.
  • • VLT payment does not prove title, layout approval or regularisation.
