Is a legal heir certificate the same as a succession certificate?

No. A family-member or legal-heir certificate is generally an administrative revenue document. A succession certificate is issued by a court for the purposes covered by that proceeding.

What does Telangana ask for in a land succession application?

The official Bhu Bharati FAQ lists a death certificate, Family Member Certificate, joint agreement of legal heirs and other relevant documents.

Andhra Pradesh commonly uses a Family Member Certificate for the deceased person’s family details. Telangana succession workflows refer to a Family Member Certificate alongside the death certificate and joint agreement of legal heirs. A court-issued succession certificate is a different document. Assetly first identifies the actual job instead of using these names interchangeably.
